EduOnline runs online courses and was holding everything together with a mix of scattered videos, spreadsheets and chat groups. They needed their own platform where students had their classroom, assessments and progress in one place, and the team could see who was moving forward and who was falling behind.
The challenge
The content existed, but it was scattered, and that drove drop-off: with no clear place to follow the course, students got lost and didn’t come back. There was also no real progress tracking, so the team couldn’t step in on time. And since the platform is in constant use, any outage mid-class broke trust.
What we did
We designed and built the full platform, from the classroom to the reports.
- Interactive classrooms with video, downloadable materials and lesson-by-lesson progress.
- Assessments with automatic grading and instant scores.
- Progress tracking per student and per course, with completion percentages.
- A teacher panel to see who’s stuck and re-engage them.
- Authentication and roles (student, teacher, admin).
- A responsive design for studying from a phone.
How we built it
A custom system with a database for students, courses, progress and grades. We separated business logic from the interface so it can grow in modules without a rewrite. The front end loads fast, and heavy views (classroom, reports) fetch data on demand so they don’t block. We tuned performance under load: indexed queries and caching at the hot spots. Deployed with redundancy and monitoring to hold high uptime, since the platform is used daily during class hours. AA accessibility across classroom and forms.
Results
With the whole course in one place and progress visible, more students reached the end instead of dropping off halfway. The teacher panel made it possible to re-engage the ones who got stuck in time. The infrastructure held high uptime even with thousands of students active at once.
